Vacuum packed abalone is when a whole abalone is vacuum-sealed in clear, retortable pouches.

The abalone weighs between 96g and 325g. They vary between one or two whole abalone in the pouch. There is a small amount of fluid in the pouch that is naturally made. The abalone are processed the same as for the canned product except for the fact that they are put in clear pouches which gives the ability to view the contents.
