With 50 years’ experience producing high quality branded foods, the family owned Ferrer business began its journey in 1964 in Sant Llorenç de Morunys, in the foothills of the Spanish Pyrenees, with the collection and distribution of truffles and wild mushrooms.

In the mid-1980s, the steady growth of the company and the need for more space in the production facility saw the headquarters move to Santpedor (close to Barcelona) and the opening of a new production plant in Moraleja (in the south west of Spain).

By 1995 new product ranges such as sauces and various vegetable preserves were introduced. Since then, Ferrer has been consistently expanding its range with new product lines: broths, soups, ready-to-cook paella among others.

The latest additions to the Ferrer product family are Ferrer Snacks a line of high quality dried nuts – after the successful acquisition of an existing business in Esparreguera (Barcelona) - and Ferrer Frescos, a new chilled range of fresh prepared meals.

Nowadays, Ferrer has become one of the leaders in the market for prepared meals and ready to cook meals, and is expanding into International markets with success, while keeping its core values of family and tradition.

Conserves Ferrer supports initiatives to help improve the living conditions of some of the most vulnerable communities in Catalonia and Spain.

Collaboration with Ampans: People with special needs come to Conserves Ferrer and are given responsibilities such as assembling of carton packaging, manual labelling or printing of corporate information required.

Partnering with NGOs: We donate our products to groups such as Carites, Fundació SOS Tucaman from Manresa, Sister Mother Teresa of Calcutta from Barcelona and the Foundation Ethiopia.

Recycling: In keeping with our environmental values, Conserves Ferrer handles all residues obtained from the different production processes, using proper methods of recycling and treatment. All our packaging is made of 100% recyclable materials.
